Mani says no to Karanam's role!

Curtains are now down for one news doing rounds about national award winning artiste Priya Mani. Earlier news was that she would be  doing the role of the Olympic Bronze Medal winning weight lifter Karanam Malleswari. But the latest news is that she rejected the offer.



Priya Mani got national award as best heroine for her very first film. She never looked back after that. She acted with top heroes in Tamil. However, as she has been facing a slack period, she started looking at differently oriented films. Though she acted in Charulata, she could not impact.



It was at this time that reports did the rounds that she would be reprising the role of Karanam Malleswari, Olympic bronze medalist in weight lifting. It was said that director Suman Dubey narrated the story to her, but she had rejected as she was not impressed with the storyline. She reportedly said it was not a bio-pic movie. She also said that there were several other reasons for rejecting the offer.



Meanwhile, Priya Mani is pinning lot of hopes on the movie 'Angulika' in which she is doing the lead role. She will also make an appearance through 'Thikka' in Telugu. She is also acting in some Kannada and Malayalam films. She says she would be happy if some of them are hit.
